Well, I'm in the thick of it--31 pages of main story in Batman #17. This is wild stuff and a lot of fun (and work) to draw. Issue 17 is also the conclusion of the DOTF storyline. I hope you're all following along and have new bulbs at the ready for you night lights!

Well, the Court of Owls story arc may be wrapped, but that doesn't mean that the party is over.
I'm mid way through pencils on the 1st issue of the next story arc--The return of the Joker!!!

I can promise you that this will be the most frightening incarnation yet of this most famous rogue.

It will be more than you expect and nothing like what you're imagining.

I felt my pulse racing as I read the first scene when Joker appears. Creepy, scary stuff!!!

Can't wait to curl your toes.

Thank you to the fans that came to hang with me at Philly Comic Con this past weekend. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did--love you all.

Well, being I finished issue 11 before heading to Philly, and being I've taken issue 12 off, I can finally decompress and handle the zillion things that have been neglected including my self. I am, however, working on a secret project outside of comics. Still, I light burden. I need to recharge!!!!

I hope to meet more of you at WIZCON in Chicago this August!

Your artist,

Well, it's finally here. ..For me, anyway. The final issue in the Court of Owls--issue 11 of Batman is in my hands waiting for me to bring it to life visually. I hope that you've been enjoying the ride as much as team Batman has. We've all toiled long hours to make it as exciting as we can for all of you.
As always, thank you sincerely for all the love and support.
Now, on to some ass kicking!

Well, it seems that the Court of Owls run is nearing its conclusion. I'll be starting issue 10 today! I have the script for issue 11, but I don't want to read it--the last present left to unwrap. I'm sure it's gonna be awesome!

Thanks for all the love that you guys are showing me and Team Batman.

I'll be posting pages from issue #7 very soon. So, don't look if you haven't read it yet!

I want to publicly thank my EIC Bob Harras for backing me and approving my idea to rotate the pages in Batman #5. And, to applaud FCO's outstanding color work. I told him my vision and he made it a come alive as only he can. It goes without saying, Scott has written an epic tale and my right hand man J.G. continues to ink his ass off.

This team is a dream come true. Each of us feeds off one another. Our passion is hot and we're all driven to give you the very best we can on Batman.
We're all extremely grateful for all the love and support. We won't let you down

I see a lot of attention has been paid to my flashback sequence in issue #4 of Batman. So, I thought I should upload them for you to see raw.
I knew immediately that I wanted to handle them in a contrasting style. I thought of old photos and high contrast and sepia tones. These were the easiest pages to render. If my style was this way always I'd be able to crank out 3-4 books a month. But, It's not HOW you draw, but WHAT you draw that's important!
I told my art team (Jonathan Glapion-inks and FCO Plascencia-color) the look I was after. I told J.G. to give me a fade on the edges to add sort of a dream-like quality and asked FCO keep a fairly monotone palette. I love my art team. They did a great job at bring my vision to life.

My apologies, everyone.

I know it's been forever since I last posted.

DC is VERY touch about me releasing art before they do.

Working hard. Hope you all are too.

September is just around the corner!

Hey gang

I've been very busy doing a painting for World of Warcraft as well as completing Haunt Cover 13.
I've posted some layouts for Haunt issue 5--Ryan Ottley's final issue. Though some pages indicate traditional media, they were actually all rendered using Painter's Pencils.

I posted other pages from this issue on my Facebook page.

I hope that you'll check 'em out.

A lot of people ask me what I use--Photoshop or Painter.

When I do color work, I ALWAYS use painter. I feel that it does the best mimicking of the two programs. After I finish the painting, I'll import it into PS to convert it to CMYK.

After I import a B&W traditionally inked cover, I may import it into PS to add some white out effect. It's much easier and a lot less messy.

And, now I am.

I'm completely overwhelmed by all the response to my posts. So many kind people saying so many kind things.
I'm humbled and appreciative. Knowing that I inspire other artists like others inspired me... wow.
Thank you, each and every one.
